In short, trusting Tom Scott Honda for your maintenance needs takes the headaches out car care. That, however, doesn't mean there aren't a few things you can do on your end to make sure your vehicle stays in good shape. Specifically, we have a few D-I-Y tips to share with you that can help increase your fuel economy and keep your car on the road where it belongs.
- Clean brake dust off regularly: As its name indicates, brake dust builds up on your wheels as a result of normal use of your braking system. Simply use a damp sponge and clean cold water to remove it.- Check your tire pressure regularly: As in once a week. Properly inflated tires are key to reaching your vehicle's optimum fuel economy. Need we say more?
- Check your tire's tread: This can be easily done with either a tire tread gauge or a penny. If you insert the penny upside down and find that you can see all of Honest Abe's head, your tread is too low.
