There are constant reports these days of new technology buzzing the automotive world.  New technology is constantly firing at us at a rapid pace, and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. So, you will not be surprised by learning that out of all the advanced systems and unique features available today, AOL Autos has selected Honda LaneWatch as one of its 2012 Technology of the Year finalists.

Maybe you aren't familiar with this feature. Let us share with you a bit about it. New for the completely revamped 2013 Honda Accord, LaneWatch technology provides a clear set of eyes for drivers unable to see in the right-side blind spot. Using an advanced camera mounted below the passenger-side rear-view mirror, the system sends real-time video depicting the hard-to-see lane to a dashboard display screen. Different colored lines are also put in place on the screen in order to denote distance from approaching traffic.

Our team at Tom Scott Honda are holding out high hopes that the Honda LaneWatch will win. The technology is already a winner in out book of new Honda drivers looking to make their highway commute just a bit safer.

Michael Accavitti, Vice President of Marketing Operations for American Honda, adds, "LaneWatch is...an advancement in technology that drivers will use and enjoy every day."1

Over the next month, consumers will vote on which technology they believe should receive the final AOL Autos nod. We encourage you to head online to the AOL Autos website to cast your digital ballot.
