Last year something happened that still has critics, consumers and all automotive enthusiasts raving about. To give you a hint, it was announced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Any guesses? For those who still don't know what we are talking about, Honda and Mugen unveiled a creation based on the Honda CR-Z. Named the CR-Z Mugen RR, this vehicle certainly upped the ante for the sports hybrid coupe in a way that had everyone begging for.
The Honda CR-Z Mugen RR was originally supposed to be a one-off concept; nothing more than proof of the vehicle's aftermarket potential. Given the positive feedback that Honda has received for this vehicle, the decision has been made to move the project from the concept phase into pre-production.
While we do not expect Honda to offer a CR-Z Mugen RR model on dealership lots, we do believe this will open the door for the company to offer an aftermarket parts package to create one. But we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves at this time, since the company has only confirmed pre-production plans. While all signs indicate they will be proceeding, some people are speculating they are only testing the waters before reaching an official decision.
