Who cares if HAL 9000 tried turning the tables on his human masters in 2001: A Space Odyssey? Well, some of those astronauts probably cared a great deal, but at the end of the day, it was nothing more than a movie. As for us here at Tom Scott Honda, we stand by our trusty iPhones, and after everything that we and Siri have gone through over the past few years, there's no way she'd do us wrong. Whenever we've needed her, she's always been there, and now that we'll soon be able to find her in our new and used cars, life is just all sorts of grand.
After Honda recently partnered up with Apple to start implementing the latter's technologies into the former's vehicles, it wasn't long before we found out we'd be able to hook up Siri to our upcoming Honda Accord models. Now, since Honda isn't crazy enough to suggest that you should be fiddling around with your iPhone while merging onto the freeway, they've come up with some ideas to make this development as distraction-free as humanly possible.
Not only will Siri synch up with Honda's Bluetooth and HandsFreeLink systems so drivers can keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, but thanks to the new EyesFree mode that prevents your iPhone's screen from illuminating, drivers will be that much more focused when behind the wheel. The only catch is that your iPhone will need to be running on iOS if you want to use all these nifty new features, but something tells us that shouldn't be much of a hurdle to overcome.
So keep checking back on our blog for when the new Apple-friendly 2013 Honda Accord rolls into our dealership, and if you're still awfully partial to your atlas/freaked out by all this HAL 9000 talk, then feel free to come test drive one of our many other Honda models today at 603 11th Ave. in North Nampa, ID 83687. After all, our phones could probably use the rest.
