In this day and age where everyone's trying to figure out the next big way to release the next big thing, it's great to hear about a company that doesn't rush the process. After all, good things come to those who wait, and the last thing any of us here at Tom Scott Honda need is a second-rate new or used car on our dealership because someone up top wanted to jump the gun. Lucky of all of us, we work with Hondas, and if the recent launch of the 2013 Honda Fit EV was any indication, jumping the gun is not in their vocabulary.

If you didn't hear about it, Honda has been taking a pretty unorthodox approach in the way it's been releasing its new Fit EV in the US. Last summer, the plug-in started showing up in the occasional dealership in California and Oregon, and for the past seven months, those were the only dealerships you could find it. Being in Indiana, they were the longest seven months of our lives, but we understand that there was a rhyme to the reason.

After taking the time to see how the Fit EV fared with consumers and new owners, Honda recently decided that the feedback was positive enough to start moving their eco-friendly hatchback out East.

"Expanding the availability of the ultra-efficient Fit EV to the East Coast is the next logical step in Honda's strategic and customer-focused approach to growing the market for low-CO2, sustainable mobility technologies," says Steve Center, vice president of the American Honda Environmental Business Development Office. "Combining Honda's extensive EV experience with customers . . . with the real-world feedback from early Fit EV lessees in several different markets will help us prepare for growing adoption of electrical vehicles."1

By the end of this month, the 2013 Fit EV should be in Honda dealerships across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York, and if you've been searching high and low around Caldwell and Boise for one, then today is your lucky day, because somehow, some way, some models have ended up on our dealership. But since Honda only released nine models in the US, you better act fast before they're all gone.

With that being said, we'll be waiting for you here at 603 11th Ave. North in Nampa, ID 83687, because even better things come to those hurry.
