When you're looking at a new Honda vehicle, whether it's a car or truck, van or SUV, how much attention do you pay to the little details? Sure, sure, the details like how soft the seats are and how many radio presets the audio system can save are all important details, but we're talking about something you're even less likely to notice.

We're talking about the exterior badge placement.

In a benign - but potentially financially painful - mistake at the factories, a significant number of 2013 Honda Odyssey models were produced with crooked, misplaced, or completely missing exterior badges. While to the casual driver this might not seem like a big deal at all, it could actually come back and bite you pretty hard down the road when you're looking to sell.

A badge that isn't exactly where it's supposed to be is often times a sign of body or paint work having been done. It's a sign that the vehicle was damaged and repaired and can seriously hurt resale value. However, in the case of these 2013 Odyssey models, they came right out of the factory like this, brand new with incorrect badge placement. That's bad.

The automaker released a statement, saying "On some 2013 Odyssey vehicles, the Odyssey emblem was incorrectly installed on the passenger's side of the rear tailgate. The emblem should be installed on the drivers' side of the rear tailgate. American Honda Motor Company highly recommends that you participate in this Product Update."1 Fortunately, the product update mentioned is easy.
