When you think of the term, “green,” do you automatically think of SUVs? Most people don’t, yet the Honda HR-V may just change their minds.
The eco-friendly SUV was recently named 2016 Green SUV of the Year,” by Green Car Journal. The magazine, which has been around since 1992, focuses on the love auto enthusiasts have for their vehicles, and the impact vehicles have on the environment.
The journal hosts events, conducts various outreach and educational initiatives and more, in the hopes of educating consumers on more environmentally friendly vehicle options.
Because many people want the comfort and roominess of an SUV, making these more sustainable is a great step in the right direction.
Honda was pleased to learn of the recent award. In the past five years, three Honda brand vehicles have been honored by Green Car Journal.
